Materials Needed:
- a large3-ring binder containing lined paper
- a scientific calculator (must have sin, cos and tan buttons) ($10 - $20 value)
- blue pens, pencils, eraser, coloured pens, a ruler (a clear ruler is best), a highlighter (notes in pen, homework in pencil, marking in red, test corrections in a different colour)
- times tables and integer number lines may be used at any time (will be provided)
- calculators may be used for tests (not cell phones or iPhones)
- calculators may not be shared on tests

Attendance:
1. When you are absent, have your parent or guardian call the school before 1:00 each and every day that you are away to ensure that your attendance is clearly marked on the office computer. (If it is not clear on my daily printout then it will be considered a SKIP!)
2. Any student skipping a test will receive a zero.
3. If you miss a test for legitimate reasons (illness or school trip), you should expect to write the test on the day you return. A parent or guardian are invited to
call me or e-mail me directly if there are extenuating circumstances.
4. Students who have excellent attendance (less than 5 authorized absences), who have consistently written tests on the scheduled test day, and who have regularly & accurately completed their daily assignments may be allowed to drop their lowest test score from their term average at the end of the semester.

Extra Help:
- Extra help is available most days after school in room 213.
- Senior students who tutor are also available for extra help (arranged through the guidance office).
- Many links for extra math help are available.
- Any student who feels that the University/College course is too difficult should consult with their parents and the teacher before midterm to plan a strategy to ensure success.
